Job summary

Omnia Healthcare Group in Illinois is seeking an Insurance Billing Specialist to join our home office, supporting a large group of skilled nursing facilities.

You will verify payments, post daily receipts, reconcile cash, and collaborate with AR, facilities, vendors, and third parties to ensure accurate billing and timely collections. A minimum of 1 year in healthcare billing with basic MS Office skills is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of cash receipts posting and healthcare billing experience; skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Verify payments and ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.
• Post daily payments to specific accounts/payer types in a timely manner.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of total cash receipts posted against Finance Cash report.
• Archiving of cash receipts records and corresponding supports in shared drive.
• Monthly review of aging reports and ensure collections are made in a timely manner.
• Partner with AR team member, facility, vendor, and other third party to ensure all documentation needed for billing and collections are achieved.
• Follow up on claims, resolution of billing issues and collaborate with AR Manager and Team Lead for claims denials and appeals in a timely manner.
• All other duties, as assigned

Billing Specialist Minimum Education and Experience:

• At least one year of cash receipts posting and billing experience in a health care industry, skilled nursing faciltiy preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to navigate various departments and locations of the company.
