Overview

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. We are an EEO / AA Employer.

What you’ll do

Join our hard-working team in processing Behavioral Health Claims. Working from home, the Billing Specialist will assure the timely, accurate, and efficient processing, posting and rebilling of agency claims from service to payment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Review and post all RBHA and Non-RBHA progress notes according to contracts as appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and information as directed by the Finance Manager or Director of Finance.
  • Submit all RBHA and Non-RBHA claims according to contracts, either electronically or on paper as required. Continue to transition all billing from paper to electronic as appropriate.
  • Review EOBs and research each denied claim and re-bill accordingly.
  • Receive and process all clients authorizations, co-payments and payments received.
  • Complete month end reports for financial close both timely and accurately.
  • Create and mail statements within 72 working hours of appointment or receipt of EOB for RBHA clients who have a balance due.
  • Review errors found when posting progress notes and email staff / supervisors as necessary.
  • Review RBHA client Eligibility Errors and request inserts or enrollments as appropriate.
  • Identify any issues with ClaimTrak and discuss with Claims Manager immediately.
What you’ll provide
  • High School diploma / GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical office setting working with AHCCCS, HMOs, other third-party payors, and self-pay using a centralized computer-based billing system.
  • Customer Service focus with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Billing / Claims Experience
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team, helping to accomplish team goals.
  • Must have a Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to obtain one.
