Job summary

Gadsden Physician Clinics in Alabama is seeking a Billing Specialist I to process insurance claims, perform billing tasks, and follow up to ensure timely reimbursement. You will serve as the main contact for payers, researching and resolving issues while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Essential duties include submitting claims, communicating with payers and patients, reconciling credits, and addressing denials. Knowledge of EHR systems and denials management is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical billing processes and payer policies.
• Ability to interpret EOBs and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Experience with EHR and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Submits and processes claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring payer compliance.
• Communicates with insurance companies, patients, and stakeholders to resolve inquiries and maintain accounts.
• Reviews and reconciles credit balances and adjustments per guidelines.
• Monitors and resolves claim denials and rejections and identifies trends.
• Maintains documentation of billing actions in the PM system.
