Thrive Behavioral Health is hiring a Full-Time Billing Specialist to join our billing team in the Rosedale Clinical Office, MD. This in-person role handles accounts receivable, client statements, and insurance verifications for our diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical billing or behavioral health billing preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field and attends or completes required agency trainings.
• Accounts receivable for insurance carriers.
• Prepares and sends client statements monthly or as needed.
• Provides customer service to clients when communicating the collection of balances and answering questions regarding statement and account details.
• Timely collaborates with appropriate staff in regard to client insurance issues and balances.
• Verifies insurance for new and potential clients and/or when there is a change with insurance coverage for current clients.
• Aptly reviews and posts insurance explanations of benefits to EMR.
• Processes Grant billing and payments.
• Obtains required authorizations for insurance.
• Maintains current and up to date insurance information in EMR.
• Performs other duties and tasks required.

Thrive Behavioral Health is actively hiring a Full-Time Billing Specialist to join the billing team. This is a full-time in-person position based in Thrive's Rosedale Clinical Office, in Rosedale Maryland.

Thrive Behavioral Health is Joint Commission accredited. Our team of licensed therapists provide individual, family, and school-based therapy services to adults, children and families. Thrive serves clients throughout Central Maryland. Our Thrive clinicians take a proactive approach to treatment by meeting with clients through telehealth and going into neighborhoods, homes, and schools to reduce the barriers of traditional mental health treatment. Thrive also has clinic-based programs in Rosedale, Catonsville, Millersville, Silver Spring, Stevensville, and Bel Air.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, accreditation and regulatory standards related to role as Billing Specialist.
• Able to timely submit billing, respond to questions, post payment, etc.
• Knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 codes is desired.
• Professional readiness: Issues related to self-awareness, diversity, ethics and continuing education.
• Knowledge of PC software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred.
• Understanding: code of ethics for respective profession and seeks consultation with supervisor when necessary.
• Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic.
• Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands.
• Reading and writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts, assessments, directions and processes or sequences of events.
• Ability to represent the Company well in interactions both inside and outside the facility.
• High school diploma, or GED equivalent or two years' work experience.
• Preferred: 2 years or more of behavioral health billing experience.
• Preferred CPR/FA Certification.
