Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners, LLC is seeking a Billing Specialist to oversee the billing process for customers, patients, and MVP platforms. You will perform accounting, customer service, and organizational tasks to promote the organization’s financial health.

The role emphasizes resolving balances with insurances and patients, posting charges and payments in Allscripts PM, and maintaining professional communication with physicians and patients. Previous ophthalmology billing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes is required.
• One or more years of customer service experience preferred.
• Ophthalmology/Optometry/ASC/Optical billing experience and Revenue Cycle Management knowledge are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile outstanding balances from insurances and patients.
• Discuss open balances with patients and collect payments.
• Maintain and manage collection agency accounts.
• Place outgoing calls to insurance companies and patients to resolve claims and balances.
• Post charges, payments, and adjustments in Allscripts Practice Management software.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, colleagues, management, and patients.
• Perform general office duties as assigned.

What you will be doing

• Problem solving to reconcile outstanding balances from insurances and patients
• Discussing open balances with patients and collect payment accordingly
• Maintaining collection agency accounts
• Placing outgoing calls to insurance companies and patients to resolve outstanding claims/balances
• Exhibiting knowledge of medical insurance and proper use of computer software
• Posting charges, payments and adjustments in Allscripts Practice Management software
• Communicating effectively and professionally with physicians, co-workers, managements and patients
• Performing general office duties and other duties as assigned

What you know

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledgeable in ICD-10 & CPT Codes

Desired

• One (1) or more years of customer service experience
• Ophthalmology, Optometry, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and/or Optical billing experience
• Experience in Revenue Cycle Management
