United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our Fresno, CA team as a Medical Billers. The role welcomes experienced or new graduates in medical billing and coding, with focus on accurate, timely, and fraud-free billing to maximize payments.

The Billing Specialist will work with the Medical Billing Manager to translate procedures into billing codes, enter data in the PM system, and manage statements and claims for insurance and patient portions,

Qualifications

• High School Grad/GED requirement.
• Certified Professional Coder preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical, dental billing and collections practices.

Overview

We are recruiting for an exciting career opportunity as a Medical Billers to join the team as Billing Specialist at our corporate office in Fresno, CA.Experienced or new Medical Billing and/or Coding graduates are welcomed!As a Billing Specialist, one can look forward to ensuring that United Health Centers is able to obtain payment from appropriate parties. In addition to ensuring that all billing and coding is accurate, timely and fraud free.

Responsibilities

Works closely with the Medical Billing Manager and other members of the Team to:

• Translate medical procedures into appropriate insurance billing codes.
• Enter accurate information into the practice management system.

• Bill the insurance company for services performed and/or the patient for patient portion due.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• High School Grad/GED

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

• Certified Professional Coder preferred but not required.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical, dental billing and collections practices.

SKILLS:

• Bilingual preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels).
• Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to patients and staff.
• Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
• Must have high manual dexterity.
• Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn.

The hourly wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $24.20 an hour. Our salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
