Job summary

Western Nephrology, a leading practice in Denver, is seeking a Billing Specialist to handle all aspects of medical billing. This role requires a minimum of two years of experience in full cycle medical billing and a high school diploma. You'll be responsible for entering insurance claims, following up on unpaid claims, and working with patients on payment plans.

The job offers a supportive team environment with competitive pay ranging from $20 to $23 per hour. Enjoy regular hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, without evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of full cycle medical billing experience required.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
• Certified Professional Coder is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter information for insurance claims including patient and diagnosis details.
• Submit insurance claims to clearinghouses or insurance companies.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any issues.
• Prepare appeal letters for denied claims.
• Establish payment plans with patients for overdue accounts.

WHAT DO I GET?

MUST HAVES

• Two years of full cycle medical billing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Committed patient advocate helping to decipher the complexities surrounding insurance claims.
• Team player who is passionate and enthusiastic about helping people.

• Ability to multitask and adapt quickly.
• Excellent at maintaining precision when entering and processing data.

WHAT WILL I DO?

• Enter information necessary for insurance claims such as patient, insurance ID, diagnosis and treatment codes and modifiers, and provider information.
• Submit insurance claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies electronically or via paper CMS-1500 form.
• Follow up with insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims.
• Resolve issue and re-submit claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Prepare appeal letters to insurance carrier when not in agreement with claim denial.
• Work with patients to establish payment plan for past due accounts.
• Post insurance and patient payments using medical claim billing software.

IT’S A PLUS IF YOU HAVE THIS!

• Bilingual in Spanish/English.
• Certified Professional Coder.
• Experience with eClinical Works (eCW).

Work hours are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday.

The practice is comprised of 14 board certified Nephrologists at 5 clinics treating patients for a variety of nephrological conditions including acute kidney injury, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and End Stage Renal Disease. In addition to their hospital work, its providers and staff care for patients at nephrology clinics, dialysis clinics and rehabilitation centers.
