Job summary

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Inc. is seeking a Billing Representative to manage full-cycle billing for Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurances, and self-pay accounts. The role supports denials management, appeals, and reporting to optimize revenue cycle performance across TVHC providers and facilities.

The position requires at least two years of medical billing experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and familiarity with Epic EHR. 40-hour work week with potential evenings or Saturdays is typical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Billing coursework required.
• Minimum of two years medical practice billing experience required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Epic billing/EHR experience in FQHC environment.
• Accounts receivable experience including billing, reconciliations, collections.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and update patient accounts per TVHC policies.
• Collaborate with Finance to maximize reimbursement across all plans.
• Follow up on denied RA/EOB for insurance claims.
• Develop patient-specific appeal documentation for payers when needed.
• Communicate with management to support efficient workflows across locations.
• Maintain current knowledge of billing practices and payer requirements.
• Monitor workflow across sites to ensure timely billing and accuracy.
• Safeguard patient information and records confidentiality.
• Provide excellent customer service and address billing concerns.
• Support integrity of patient account records and system documentation.
• Meet TVHC Service Excellence Standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
