Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Billing Representative to submit hospital or professional claims to Payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans. You will audit claims for accuracy, update demographics, and resolve rejections to ensure timely payments.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and less than one year of experience in billing. This role offers benefits and opportunities within Texas’ largest not-for-profit health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform code and demographic audits on paper and electronic claims using the billing scrubber, payer edits, and custom edits for accuracy.
• Communicate specific problems or concerns to Manager as appropriate.
• Review electronic claims transmission reports and resolve ECS rejections by correcting them in the system and resubmitting for payment.
• Request or post charge corrections and appropriate credit and debit adjustments to patient accounts.
• Correct patient demographic information when new or correct information is received.
• Review claims for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information; work rejected claims using compliant and ethical billing practices.
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
