Job summary

Citizens Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Billing & Records Manager to oversee revenue cycle operations, insurance billing, and compliance across our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

You will lead the billing team, manage claims and authorizations, ensure accurate records, and support audits while collaborating with leadership, clinical staff, and administrators.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle operations.
• Experience with insurance claims, prior authorizations, and EHR systems.
• Strong understanding of healthcare documentation and records management practices.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing clients.
• Coordinate prior authorizations and treatment approvals with insurance providers.
• Submit, track, and monitor insurance claims and billing activities.
• Review claim denials, resolve billing issues, and support reimbursement recovery efforts.
• Maintain accurate billing records and payment documentation.
• Prepare billing reports and support financial tracking activities.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and secure client records.
• Monitor record completeness and documentation quality.
• Process authorized requests for records and information releases.
• Maintain records retention and document management procedures.
• Support electronic health record (EHR) administration and user access management.
• Conduct routine chart reviews and documentation audits.
• Prepare records for audits, reviews, and inspections.
• Coordinate authorization requests and continued service approvals.
• Track authorization timelines, approvals, and renewal requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to obtain supporting documentation.
• Monitor service authorizations to help prevent interruptions in care.
