Job summary

ARSA - Advanced Reconstructive Surgery Alliance is seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Collections / Payment Posting Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team in Dallas. Responsibilities include payment posting, denial management, and AR follow-up in a high-volume setting.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in medical billing collections, familiarity with CPT/ICD-10, and experience with EMR systems. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in payment posting and/or medical billing collections.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology.
• Experience reading EOBs and ERAs.
• Familiarity with commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payer guidelines.
• Proficiency in EMR/practice management systems (Epic, Athena, or similar).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
• High regard for confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Payment management & AR follow-up
• Identify and resolve issues hindering payment of claims by third-party payers
• Perform AR follow-up on outstanding balances for timely resolution
• Monitor open accounts receivable, adjustments, refunds, and account changes
• Respond to denial letters, appeals, and requests for information from payers
• Submit corrected claims and appeals per timely filing guidelines
• Identify denial trends and escalate to management with documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, payers, and management to resolve disputes and expedite payments
• Maintain accurate documentation for all open and pending claims
• Ensure confidentiality per HIPAA standards
• Post payments to the practice management system (cash, checks, credit card, EFT/ERA)
• Record and balance batch totals daily
• Reconcile and audit payment reports to resolve discrepancies
• Review and apply EOBs/ERAs per payer contracts
• Route unapplied payments, overpayments, and credits for resolution
