Job summary

Relay is building the digital foundation for frontline workers, with a Raleigh HQ and a strong focus on data-driven billing operations. Join a high-growth team responsible for quote-to-cash, accounts receivable, and service contracts, delivering accurate billing and timely collections.

You will analyze data, apply payments, audit contracts, and partner cross-functionally to improve processes, while leveraging Excel to build recurring billing insights.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and in a team.
• Adept troubleshooter with experience interfacing with external customers.
• Strong billing-related math skills and data-driven decision making.
• Thoughtful and detail-oriented with proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to customers with quote-to-cash inquiries.
• Operate within Relay's billing and collections workflow and perform outbound collection calls.
• Timely apply customer payments and relay accurate account balances to customers.
• Assist with submission of customer orders and starting service contracts accurately.
• Audit customer contracts for billing accuracy.
• Contribute to creditworthiness evaluations within Relay policies.
• Report system defects and track their impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to enable billing-related support.
• Create and update internal and external Billing Operations process docs.
• Assist with recurring and ad hoc corporate finance cleanups.
• Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Support other internal departments when needed.
• Use Excel and data mining skills to build recurring billing analyses.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality support to customers with inquiries related to the quote-to-cash and accounts receivable processes
• Serve as a key operator within Relay's billing and collections operation,spending a significant portion of each day on outbound collection callsand other high-touch communication channels to drive timely receiptof receivables
• Own the timely application of customer payments, ensuring that we are closing the quote-to-cash loop promptly and providing the most accurate account balance feedback to customers during the collection process
• Be prepared to assist with the submission of customer orders and the starting of service contracts in a timely and highly accurate way
• Be prepared to assist with auditing customer contracts to ensure accuracy with billing processes
• Use provided data and critical thinking skills to assist with creditworthiness evaluations for all prospective customers in a way that aligns with Relay's credit trade policy but does not hinder the sales process
• Use presence within support channels to report system defects and track their impact
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional groups to ensure that they also have the knowledge necessary to provide high-quality billing-related support when appropriate
• Continuously create, correct, and update all internal and external Billing Operations process documentation
• Assist with both recurring and ad hoc Corporate Finance-based cleanups
• Identify process inefficiencies to drive future improvement
• Commit to the Relay mission through a willingness to take on tasks for other internal departments when necessary
• Utilize Microsoft Excel proficiency and data mining skills to build and operationalize recurring billing-related analysis

Required skills, experience and attributes:

• B.S. Degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience in a related role
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who has the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Adept troubleshooter and customer service provider with experience interfacing directly with external customers.
• Strong numbers and fundamental billing-related math skills, with the ability to zoom out and use data to drive business outcomes.
• Thoughtful and detail-oriented individual
