Billing Lead/Manager - Accounting


JOB SUMMARY

The Billing Lead will manage the billing team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices and reconciliation of field activity to ERP revenue. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.


This position may be classified as either a Lead or a Manager role based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and demonstrated leadership capabilities. Final title and scope of responsibilities will be determined during the hiring process.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Supervise and lead the billing team, providing guidance and support.

  • Ensure accurate and timely generation of invoices and billing statements.

  • Prepare client invoices and utilize client-based invoice interfaces as required

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring invoices are approved by customers.

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in a professional manner.

  • Develop and implement billing policies and procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate billing and reporting.

  • Prepare and analyze billing reports and metrics.

  • Prepare and maintain reports for billing status and client cost as required.

  • Train and mentor billing staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills are required ensuring invoicing meets customer requirements.

  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve billing issues.

  • Professional communications and responses to client and employee inquiries.

  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.

  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in accounts receivable and invoicing.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people at different levels within the organization.

  • Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a similar role.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of industry-specific billing practices and regulations.

  • Experience uploading invoices into electronic submissions portals for clients preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
