EP!C is a Peoria-based nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with diverse programs across Illinois. The Billing Coordinator will lead EP!C’s billing operations, generate claims, post invoices, and support collections, working closely with Accounting and Behavioral Health teams.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, ethical, and well-versed in CPT/ICD-10, payer requirements, and EHR systems.
EP!C is comprised of families, staff, volunteers, and community members working together to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with unique educational, residential, employment, and clinical programs tailored to each individual’s abilities and needs. We began as a small, community-organized network of Peoria families in 1950 who took an innovative approach to disability by emphasizing ability over disability. We have since grown to serve individuals of all levels of ability residing across 15 counties in Illinois from finding funding to the best program and service.

The Billing Coordinator will lead EP!C’s billing operations, including generating claims, creating invoices, posting and coding payments, managing denials, and supporting collections. This role is essential to maximizing claim collectability through accurate and timely billing, obtaining prior authorizations for select Behavioral Health services, and promptly resolving denied or rejected claims. The Billing Coordinator will also support EP!C’s credentialing and contracting efforts with new insurance providers and other payers. This position works closely with the Accounting and Behavioral Health teams to ensure billing activities are timely, accurate, compliant, and aligned with payer requirements and organizational policies.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, ethical, and knowledgeable about healthcare billing practices and payer requirements in the state of Illinois. This individual should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
