POSITION SUMMARY:
Assisting in the administration and processing of the organization's revenue management cycle. Work is performed under the general supervision of the billing supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the daily preparation, review, and submission of insurance claims.
- Assist with client collections and follow-up activities.
- Obtain prior authorizations and provide required medical necessity documentation and information to insurance companies.
- Research and follow up with insurance payers regarding claim rejections and denials.
- Provide accurate and appropriate documentation required for claims processing.
- Submit claim status inquiries through insurance payer portals.
- Communicate with insurance companies by phone as needed regarding claims, benefits, and coverage.
- Prepare and submit corrected claims as needed.
- Verify client insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefit information.
- Maintain accurate records and document detailed, professional notes in patient files as needed.
- Meet daily productivity and performance goals as outlined by Billing Department Manager/Supervisor.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct in an office environment.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and address concerns through the appropriate chain of command.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- 2 years of billing or business experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year working in office setting providing customer service.
- Facility billing experience preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree preferred.
- Experience with Ritten EHR system preferred.
