Job summary

Bay Area Firm, a privately owned advisory practice, seeks a Cost Optimization Analyst to help clients reduce operating costs through data-driven modeling and strategic recommendations. You will analyze cost data in Excel, build models, and support audits with accurate reports and vendor communications.

Ideal candidates have a four-year degree and at least two years of hands-on data analysis experience, strong Excel skills, and capable communication to drive actionable savings across regulated

Qualifications

• Four-year degree required.
• 2 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst or similar.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills with ability to model costs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client cost data and build Excel models to identify savings opportunities.
• Deliver data-driven recommendations for optimizing recurring expenses.
• Generate true-up reports and support the audit process, including vendor communications on rate or billing changes.
• Benchmark clients to spot data anomalies.
• Support third-party cost optimization and billing audit calculations.
• Identify overpayment or exemption opportunities within regulated cost categories.
• Interpret complex billing structures and rate schedules.

What You'll Do

• Analyze client cost data and build Excel models to identify savings opportunities
• Deliver data-driven recommendations for optimizing recurring expenses
• Generate true-up reports and support the audit process, including vendor communications on rate or billing changes
• Benchmark clients to spot data anomalies
• Support third-party cost optimization and billing audit calculations

What You Bring

• Four-year degree
• 2 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst or similar
