Job summary

North American Stainless in Ghent, Kentucky is seeking a dedicated loader to move billets from the billet yard to the furnace charge table following the rolling schedule. You will help maintain a clean, safe work area and communicate any issues to supervision.

Responsibilities include loading billets, performing required checklists, and operating cranes and forklifts as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required to begin this role in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to learn, adapt, and retain information.
• Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Load billets onto the furnace charge table from the billet yard in the order of the rolling schedule.
• Locate and retrieve billets from the billet yard.
• Perform required checklists.
• Dump scrap as needed.
• Empty dust hoppers for saw and stand 1.
• Maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
• Operate cranes as necessary.
• Operate forklifts as necessary.
• Report issues to supervisor or group leader for timely resolution.
