Job summary

St. Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a part-time Youth Ministry Coordinator to lead evangelization efforts for middle and high school students.

The role partners with the Diocese of Raleigh Office of Evangelization and Discipleship to implement Bishop Luis' vision for integrated youth ministry and confirmation preparation. The position emphasizes evangelization, relational ministry, and creating opportunities for teens to grow as active disciples, with evening and weekend

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher.
• Previous experience working with youth.
• Effective communicator in person and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with middle and high school students.
• Background check and Safe Environment Training required.

Responsibilities

• Yearly recruitment and training of youth ministry volunteers for various roles.
• Provide sacramental preparation opportunities for middle and high school youth as needed (first reconciliation, first holy communion, confirmation, baptism).
• Year-round discipleship of volunteers including one-on-one mentoring and formation for ministry.
• Provide at least one conversion-based retreat for high-school youth.
