Job description

BILINGUAL VIDEO CREATOR – ANTI-DEPORTATION CAMPAIGN

Job Title: Bilingual Video Creator – Anti-Deportation Campaign
Type: Contract (5 months, with possibility to extend)
Rate: $1,500/week (with possible increase based on experience)
Hours: ~50 hours/week
Location: Remote
Start Date: ASAP
Are you ready to use your video skills to fight injustice and fuel change? Are you an English-Spanish bilingual producing editor?
Brave New Films is hiring a Bilingual (English–Spanish) Video Creator to produce and edit a bold, urgent, and emotionally powerful video campaign about deportations. We’re creating a high volume of short-form, social media–driven videos designed to educate, mobilize, and humanize.
You’ll help power Disrupting Deportations—a fast-moving social media series designed to counter ICE’s growing aggression, expose the truth behind government raids, and amplify voices of resistance from across the country. This is an urgent storytelling effort aimed at breaking through right-wing narratives, humanizing those under attack, and mobilizing people to action.
This is not a passive role. We’re looking for a one-person production powerhouse who can work under the supervision of the showrunner, and initiate from concept to final edit—researching, scripting, producing, and editing compelling content on a tight timeline with a deep sense of purpose.
If you’ve previously applied for a Brave New Films position and are interested in this role, please reapply and be sure to include all requested materials specific to this job.
*** APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT INCLUDE ALL OF THE REQUESTED SUBMISSION MATERIALS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

What You’ll Do:

Research & Develop
Work closely with showrunner and production manager to identify urgent, under-covered angles on immigration and deportations. Dig into policy, lived experiences, and current events to shape video concepts that cut through the noise on social media.

Script & Interview
Write clear, compelling scripts and outlines that drive home urgency and emotion. Conduct bilingual interviews with directly impacted individuals, advocates, and experts.

Produce & Edit
Source visuals—archival footage, user-generated content, and social media clips—or capture original material. Edit for maximum narrative and emotional impact, including graphics, music, and sound design.

Design for Action
Format and optimize videos for each major social platform (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and X), with a strong focus on audience engagement and call-to-action.

To Apply, Please Send:
Resume and/or portfolio link

3–5 examples of short-form social media videos you have researched, scripted, and edited yourself. If they involve interviews, archival, or bilingual content—highlight that.

5 examples of immigration-focused videos made by others that you found creative, inspiring, or motivating—and explain why each one worked.

Samples of your work with graphics and animation. If you have animation skills, please include that.

Samples or description of how you’ve sourced and used music in video production.

Describe your connection to immigration advocacy:

Which organizations you’ve worked with, follow, or hope to collaborate with.

Submit a short beat sheet (1 paragraph) for a 2–3 minute immigration-focused video that hasn’t been made yet—but should be.

Deadline:
No later than Friday, June 20th, 2025 (End of Day). The sooner the better,
as we will hire ASAP.
