Job summary

National College Resources Foundation in San Diego, CA seeks a Part-Time Student Tutor and Mentor to support elementary through high school students with academic tutoring, mentoring, and college/career planning.

You will provide in-class and 1-1 support, track progress, design workshops, and help students overcome barriers. Must be bilingual in English/Spanish, have a college degree or be pursuing one, and be able to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Associate’s degree; or currently enrolled to obtain a college degree.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support (40%): Provide personalized academic advising in Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry and English.
• Mentorship & Behavioral Support (40%): Promote positive classroom behavior and help students develop life and coping skills.
• Data Tracking (10%): Maintain accurate weekly records of student interactions and progress.
• Workshop Development & Facilitation (5%): Design and lead workshops on cultural awareness, professional skills, and community involvement.
• College & Career Planning (5%): Guide students through exploring postsecondary options including college, trade schools, employment and internships.
