Job summary

Learn It Systems is seeking a tutor for a New York City opening for the 26/27 school year. The tutor collaborates with educators to deliver high-quality reading and math support in a school setting for grades K–8.

The role requires prior teaching or tutoring experience, fingerprinting by the Department of Education, and completion of required safety workshops. Ability to lift 30 pounds and work on-site in a school building is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Experience teaching or tutoring for K-8 students.
• Fingerprinting by Department of Education required.
• Completion of SAVE School and Child Abuse Workshop is required (or provided).
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in reading and math in small group or one-on-one settings.
• Assist classroom teachers to support students needing extra help.
• Work with a team including fellow educators, Program Aide, and Area Manager.
• Programs run in-school for grades K to 8.

Responsibilities

Learn It Systems is looking for a tutor. We currently have an opening in New York City for the 26/27 school year. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, interdisciplinary team of professionals focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need.

In this position, you would be a part of an educational team consisting of a fellow educators, Program Aide, and Area Manager. This team works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality education services in reading, mathematics and/or writing to students in a small group/ one on one learning environment. As a tutor you will be assisting the classroom teacher with working with students that need additional support in the classroom. As a Learn It System tutor, you'll need to have experience teaching or tutoring. The programs will be held in-school, tutoring reading and math for grade levels ranging from K to 8th.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-2:30pm
• Special Education experience preferred
• Grades K-5

Qualifications

• Associates degree
• Teaching assistant or experience working with students
• Fingerprinting by Department of Education required
• Completion of SAVE School and Child Abuse Workshop are required; Prior Completion a Plus and if not then can be provided
• Bilingual preferred
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds
• Work location is in a school building where employeewill need to be able to go up and down stairs
• Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head
• Hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
