Job summary

Hayward Unified School District is seeking a Translator-Interpreter to translate and produce general, technical, legal and medical documents between English and the designated language for schools and district staff, and to provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings. The role requires reading, translating, drafting polished translations, and using interpretation equipment.

You will attend meetings, summarize materials, and support district communications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; additional training in education or related field.
• Experience as an Interpreter - Translator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate and produce documents, forms, materials, information bulletins, website information, handbooks and news releases; prepare drafts and finished translations.
• Provide simultaneous interpretations using designated language for district/school functions; attend meetings; translate minutes; extract and summarize materials.
• Use headphones, microphones and standard office equipment; perform other duties as assigned.
