Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Teller serves as the primary point of contact for customers and non-customers, providing outstanding customer service throughout each interaction. They perform various customer transactions daily, provide information, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships through suggesting other bank products and services.

NOTE:

Starting pay is $16.00/hour. This entry-level position exposes the incumbent to various transaction types. Developing knowledge of Union Bank's products and services can lead to career advancement.

Hours:

Part-Time (30 hours*): Varied hours Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM - 5:45 PM, rotating Saturdays 8:15 AM - 12:15 PM. *Insurance benefits are eligible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Accept and accurately process all financial transactions.
  2. Maintain responsibility for cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
  3. Handle semi-routine assignments, recognizing deviations from accepted practices.
  4. Provide excellent customer service, addressing questions and concerns.
  5. Cross-sell bank services and refer customers to other departments to meet management goals.
  6. Maintain knowledge of products, fees, policies, and stay current on offerings to suggest relevant products.
  7. Ensure compliance with all bank regulations related to job functions.
  8. Adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations, completing required training and following internal controls.
  9. Report compliance issues, violations, or legal concerns as per bank policies.
  10. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bilingual in Spanish required.
  2. High school diploma.
  3. Cash handling experience preferred.
  4. Attention to accuracy and detail.
  5. Previous sales and customer service experience preferred.
  6. Effective communication skills that promote Union Bank’s customer service philosophy.
  7. Basic math skills and proficiency in computer use.
  8. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  1. Indoor work environment, not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.
  2. Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods.
  3. Occasional sedentary work involving lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
