Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee program with 12 months of agency training and either college equivalence or four years of tax-related work experience.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level to assist non-English speaking taxpayers.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes and adjusts routine and complex tax returns, schedules and documents.
• Provides information and guidance to Illinois and out-of-state taxpayers in English and Spanish.
• Researches discrepancies, communicates with taxpayers on account status, and progresses cases as needed.
• Assists across the Customer Service Bureau in higher-level tax duties and responds to inquiries.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
