Job summary

82nd Street Academics is seeking full-time substitute teachers to support PreK-12 students at The Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights and The Renaissance Charter School 2 in Elmhurst, Queens.

The role pays $23 per hour, with 8:00am-4:00pm or 7:30am-2:30pm schedules, and requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of relevant experience; bilingual language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (minimum).
• At least one year of experience working with the school-age group in a professional setting.
• Commitment to the program through the end of June is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali or English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for a class of 20-25 students and maintain engagement.
• Implement daily lesson plans prepared by day school teachers.
• Promote a college-attending environment and support students' social-emotional growth.
• Model professionalism, uphold attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
• Communicate with school community and program director to address concerns.
• Be flexible and adapt to day-to-day changes.
