Lower Kuskokwim School District in Alaska seeks a Substitute Teacher Aide to support classroom instruction at Joann Alexie Memorial School in Atmautluak. You will assist with instructional activities, reinforce materials, and help with supervision and basic clerical tasks under the guidance of a teacher.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, can work with students, and is preferably bilingual in Yup’ik and English.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to work with students in a school setting.
Bilingual in Yup’ik and English preferred.
Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.

Responsabilités

Under supervision of a classroom teacher, carry out classroom activities and work with students to reinforce materials.
Assist individual students needing special attention.
Perform clerical duties such as attendance, notebooks, papers, tests, drill work, and help with equipment.
Assist with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack, restroom and clothing routines.
Assist with reading and listening to students read aloud.
Supervise students during lunch, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
Perform other duties as assigned.
