Job summary

Encompass Community Services is hiring a part-time Clinician for the SSP NEW Withdrawal management in Watsonville, CA. The role involves conducting assessments, determining medical necessity, and coordinating care for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

You will work in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment and provide high-quality clinical interventions. Qualifications include a Master’s in mental health and licensure track (LMFT/LCSW) with experience in mental health

Qualifications

  • LMFT, MFT intern, ASW, or LCSW role with licensure in progress.
  • Experience in mental health counseling and group facilitation preferred.
  • EHR documentation experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with individuals with substance use, mental illness, and diverse cultures.
  • Spanish/English bilingualism desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ASAM and psychosocial assessment for withdrawal management.
  • Provide diagnosis and determine medical necessity based on assessments.
  • Submit authorizations and requests for services for continued residential treatment.
  • Provide peer-to-peer consultations as needed.
  • Role model trauma-informed interventions for counselors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
  • Approve documentation and assist with clinical daily documentation.
  • Support team with instruction on clinical documentation and interventions.

Summary

We are currently hiring a part time Clinician at SSP NEW Withdrawal management, located in Watsonville.

Si Se Puede is a 30 bed, residential treatment program for individuals who struggle with Substance use disorder and mental illness. This facility will be equipped for 8 withdrawal management beds on site. We are looking for professionals who have direct experience with our population and can provide consistent, high quality clinical interventions utilizing crisis intervention, harm reduction, relapse prevention, trauma informed care, and other evidence-based treatment practices for adults experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders.

We need an individual with a trauma-informed, client-centered approach and candidates with grit, who enjoy the “roll-up-your-sleeves” type of residential work.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct ASAM and psychosocial assessment for those in withdrawal management.
  • Provide diagnosis and determine medical necessity based on assessments.
  • Submit authorizations and requests for services to those who will need continued residential treatment following withdrawal management.
  • Provide “peer to peer” consultations as needed
  • Role model trauma informed interventions for Counselors working with clients, including the use of motivational interviewing.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with community partners,
  • Approve documentation, along with completing diagnoses and assisting with clinical daily documentation.
  • Support team through providing instruction and feedback on clinical documentation and appropriate interventions with persons served.
  • Document services provided to our residents
Qualifications
  • LMFT, MFT intern, ASW, or LCSW/ Master's mental health degree leading to licensure.
  • Work experience in related program with mental health experience, counseling, and group facilitation experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Electronic Health Record documentation preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals struggling with substance use, mental illness, varied personalities, and cultures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid California driver's license and clearance for agency vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desirable.
