Job summary

Healthcare Alternative Systems (HAS) in Chicago, IL is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to provide individual and group counseling, present educational lectures, and develop treatment plans. Under the Program Manager, you will maintain progress notes and coordinate with related organizations.

The role requires bilingual Spanish, knowledge of ASAM criteria, and the ability to travel to off-site community settings as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria and DSM V.
• Familiar with DHS regulations (2060/2090) and CARF.
• Knowledge of Illinois DUI laws.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, organized, and team-oriented work style.

Responsibilities

• Provide at least 22 hours of direct clinical services weekly.
• Develop and review individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain progress notes and documentation.
• Conduct groups and individual counseling.
• Coordinate with referral sources and case workers.
• Ensure compliance with agency and DBHR standards.
• Flexible to travel for employment.
