Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's West Milwaukee Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) seeks a bilingual Substance Use Counselor (SAC, SACIT, CSAC) to join an outpatient MAT program. Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and documentation, with an emphasis on evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in social or health services field required.
• Prefer Bachelor's or Master’s degree in social or health services field.
• Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, relapse prevention).
• Documentation experience with clinical notes and progress updates.
• Familiarity with state regulatory standards.
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care is timely and clear.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine referrals to other programs.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients when needed.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients as needed.
• Provide case management duties for patients and liaison with referral sources.
