Job summary

Dragonfly Cares in Islip and surrounding areas is seeking a Bilingual Special Education Teacher to deliver in-home instruction and ABA-based support on a part-time, flexible schedule.

You will conduct parent counseling sessions, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and clinical directors to ensure comprehensive services. A Master’s in Education and a valid Special Education certification are required; bilingual English/Spanish is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or related field required.
• Certified Special Education Teacher credential required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish; other languages welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic and behavioral in-home instruction.
• Conduct parent counseling training (PCT) sessions with families.
• Monitor and document client progress; adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and clinical directors for holistic support.
• Maintain detailed records, including progress reports and outcomes.

What You'll Do:

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or a related field.
• Certified Special Education Teacher.
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience teaching individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish speaking. Other languages welcomed.
• Proven experience in providing special education services.
• Strong knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience delivering Parent Training (PCT).
• Experience implementing in-home Behavior Intervention Services
• Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
