Job summary

Urbana School District #116 Urbana 6th Grade Center is seeking a Spanish Dual Language Teacher to support multilingual learners in a high-quality bilingual program. The teacher will deliver instruction in Spanish and English, align lessons to Illinois standards, and collaborate with RTI and special education staff to ensure student growth.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, communicating with parents, maintaining records, and fostering a respectful, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with certification and endorsements.
• Coursework in Latina/o Studies, Chicana/o Studies, African American Studies, or Ethnic Studies (DESIRED).
• Spanish/English fluency required.
• 2-3 years teaching at the middle level; new graduates may apply.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes, and fulfills supervision and other duties.
• Plans a program of study aligned to Illinois Common Core Standards, addressing student needs.
• Demonstrates native-like and academic language abilities in Spanish and English across listening, speaking, reading, writing.
• Collaborates with RTI, Title 1, and Special Education staff to support students.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates with parents.
