West Cecil Health Center (WCHC) is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team at our new location in Elkton, Maryland.

WCHC is a thriving nonprofit, community health organization that provides comprehensive and collaborative patient-centered healthcare services. Based primarily in Elkton, some travel to Conowingo, or Havre de Grace may be required. Bilingual skills are a plus.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will support our care team by:

  • Greeting all persons and directing them to the appropriate location in a courteous, polite, and helpful manner.
  • Providing efficient and professional telephone and fax services, processing messages promptly, and responding to portal messages.
  • Respecting and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Registering patients according to WCHC protocol.
  • Determining the financial status of patients, copying insurance cards, identification, and information, and collecting fees or deductibles as needed.
  • Verifying insurance.
  • Confirming appointments.
  • Providing assistance with official correspondence.
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
  • Participating in staff and educational meetings.
  • Assisting with referrals and prescription requests.
  • Reporting detailed patient cases to providers.
