Salem Public Schools seeks a Dual Language (Spanish) Grade 3 Teacher for Bentley Academy Innovation School in Salem, MA, for SY 2026-27. The role centers on delivering literacy, math, and content in Spanish to native and language-learning students within a robust two-way immersion program.

Candidates should hold Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 or K-2 licensure, SEI endorsement, and preferably a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Elementary 1-6 or Early Childhood (K-2).
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required within 1 year of start date.
• Dual Certification (ESL/TESOL) a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in urban settings preferred.
• Proficiency with technology (Google G-Suite, Remind, etc.) desirable.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.
• Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach literacy, mathematics, social studies, science in Spanish to native Spanish speakers and learners.
• Use strategies for language learners and native speakers, such as sheltered instruction and cooperative learning.
• Develop curriculum, units, and lesson plans for the Dual Language program with Bentley team.
• Plan and use instructional materials reflecting diverse learning styles and needs.
• Provide positive classroom environment with SEL and culturally responsive strategies.
• Prepare teaching materials and reports, including data analyses to improve instruction.
• Instruct and assist students individually or in groups, designing lessons.
• Assess language and content proficiency and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and maintain cultural responsiveness.
• Attend professional development sessions to sustain the dual language program.
