Overview
Bilingual Spanish Academic Tutor for Middle School (grades 6–8). This role supports multilingual learners with foundational math and pre-algebra, literacy development, geography, American history, civics, life and physical sciences, bridging curriculum for primarily Spanish-speaking students. In-person tutoring four days a week, Monday–Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects: Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Regents exam prep.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to develop engaging, personalized learning strategies that address language gaps.
- Support bilingual students in English and a second language to improve academic outcomes.
Qualifications
- Passion for learning and commitment to supporting underserved and bilingual students
- Bilingual proficiency in English and a second language; ability to provide academic support in both languages
- Degree-seeking student or graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA in Education or a relevant field
- Available to work 10–35 hours per week at an assigned school (or virtual program) and participate in monthly training
- Collaborative spirit and ability to work with teachers and school leaders
Compensation & Schedule
- Virtual Programs: $18/hr
- In-Person Programs: $25–$27/hr
- Program completion bonus: up to 10% of total program earnings
- Work 10–35 hours per week
