We are currently seeking a Senior Universal Banker to work at our HQ branch.

As a Senior Universal Banker at our HQ branch, you will work with members to help improve their financial lives. Your role involves analyzing members’ current and future financial situations, advising on various financial products, and providing excellent service.

Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and previous lending and banking experience. You must also be able to obtain an NMLS number.

Essential Functions
  1. Collaborate and advise members on borrowing needs via in-branch, phone, and video consultations.
    • Provide education and consultation on loans.
    • Perform credit bureau reviews.
    • Interview members and input loan applications accurately.
    • Maintain extensive knowledge of all lending products.
    • Calculate lending ratios accurately.
    • Ensure all lending paperwork is correctly collected and processed.
  2. Provide deposit solutions.
    • Advise members on deposit products.
    • Open savings, checking, certificates, IRAs, and money markets.
    • Serve as a primary contact for new accounts and build relationships.
    • Utilize Synapsys for onboarding new members.
    • Educate members on services like debit cards, online and mobile banking, and bill pay.
  3. Identify cross-selling opportunities.
    • Make referrals based on member needs.
    • Maximize partner relationships to deepen member relationships.
    • Educate members on additional products like Payment Protection, GAP, MRC, and auto & home insurance referrals.
  4. Build relationships and provide financial education.
    • Meet with members to build rapport and understand their goals.
    • Use consultative communication skills in all interactions.
    • Help members improve their financial lives.
    • Participate in outbound calling activities.
    • Balance member and credit union benefits in interactions.
    • Provide excellent member service and coaching to tellers.
    • Use service recovery when needed.
    • Educate members on online, mobile banking, and ATM access.
Job Specifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • One year as a Universal Banker preferred.
  • Ability to obtain an NMLS number.
  • Two years retail financial or sales experience; lending experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic business math skills.
