Role Specific Information

Job Description

This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

About the Role

As a Copywriter, you will develop engaging, on-brand copy for omnichannel marketing efforts backed by sound strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Translate strategy into creative solutions
• Adhere to standard copy practices
• Help develop content for Kohl’s marketing channels
• Work closely with art directors, designers, strategy and merchant partners to create compelling content for Kohl’s brand
• Attend relevant meetings and present project work at creative reviews with marketing leaders
• Write and present rationales for presentations
• Ensure Kohl’s brand voice and integrity are maintained
• Incorporate changes and ensure copy is up-to-date and accurate throughout the lifecycle of a project
• Edit copy to reflect changes from requests and reviews
• Refine and implement copy targeting Spanish-speaking customers
• Proofread Spanish copy before final posting or publishing
• Write fluently in English and Spanish and translate copy
• Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

• Must be bilingual with fluency in both English and Spanish
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, communications or a related subject
• Minimum 2+ years work experience in writing (exclusive of coursework)
• Superior grasp of grammar and style
• Demonstrated copywriting ability (as demonstrated by portfolio)
• Strong ideation and communication skills
• Self-starter
