Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a School-Based Marriage and Family Therapist to serve students in a California school district. The role emphasizes bilingual English/Spanish communication to support Spanish-speaking families, with on-site, in-person counseling in a school setting for a school-year schedule.

The candidate will provide individual and group counseling, collaborate with teachers and school teams, and engage families in both English and Spanish as needed.

Qualifications

• Active, full license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.
• Associate-level or pre-licensed candidates cannot be considered for this role.
• Ability to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Availability Monday-Friday for 30 hours per week
• Ability to complete required state clearances and background checks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students
• Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches
• Engage and communicate with families, in English and Spanish where needed
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and school teams to support student success
• Respond to student concerns and coordinate with the school team on safety and next steps
• Connect students and families with community resources
• Keep accurate documentation and maintain student confidentiality in line with FERPA and mandated reporting requirements
