Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support HR functions and maintain a safe, compliant warehouse environment.

You will conduct safety inspections, coordinate employee training, investigate incidents, and serve as a point of contact for HR and safety-related concerns. The position requires bilingual Spanish/English, 5+ years of experience in HR/safety/warehouse operations, and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• 5+ years of experience in HR, safety, or warehouse operations.
• Associate’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and OSHA regulations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS/payroll experience preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to walk and stand throughout the warehouse for inspections and training

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular warehouse safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain records of incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries.
• Coordinate forklift, PPE, and emergency response training.
• Investigate workplace accidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
• Serve as a point of contact for HR and safety concerns.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations.
• Support additional HR and warehouse operations as needed
