Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
• Provide Mandarin–English translation support during safety orientations and field operations.
• Assist with investigation and documentation of workplace incidents and near-misses; support corrective actions.
• Maintain and organize safety documentation (JHAs, permits, meeting records, incident reports).
• Utilize MS Office to track safety data, prepare reports, and support safety training materials.
• Monitor project safety compliance and communicate requirements to contractors and internal teams.
• Coordinate and document safety meetings and follow-up on action items.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and communicative Safety Specialist to support and maintain a safe and compliant work environment across project sites.

This role involves a combination of field safety support and office-based administrative responsibilities, including on-site safety inspections, safety documentation management, translation support, and cross-department coordination. The Safety Specialist will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and supporting safe project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular on-site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA).
• Provide Mandarin–English translation support during safety orientations and field operations to ensure all personnel understand safety procedures and protocols.
• Assist with the investigation and documentation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain and organize safety documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, safety meeting records, and incident reports.
• Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to track safety data, prepare reports, and support safety training materials.
• Monitor and track project safety compliance, and communicate safety requirements effectively with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Coordinate and document safety meetings, including follow-up on action items and corrective measures.
• Provide administrative support to the safety and engineering teams to ensure efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher required; degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data tracking and reporting.
• Strong bilingual communication skills (Mandarin and English), including the ability to support translation for safety communication and documentation.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in construction, engineering, semiconductor, or manufacturing safety environments.
• Safety-related certifications such as OSHA 30, OSHA 510/511, or equivalent.
• Experience working in multicultural or multilingual work environments.
• Combination of office-based administrative work and on-site project support.
• Regular collaboration with Safety Managers, Project Managers, contractors, and site personnel.
• May require periodic site visits to construction or industrial environments.
