Job summary

County of Dare seeks a bilingual interpreter and language support specialist to assist clients with limited English proficiency. You will translate forms, educate clients, and provide interpretation during appointments and enrollment processes.

You will support reception duties, document contacts, and coordinate with the Dare County interpreter team to ensure coverage for divisions' interpretation needs. A high school diploma and language fluency in English and Spanish are required.

Qualifications

• Strong language skills in English and Spanish, fluent verbally and in writing.
• Ability to translate forms, educational materials, and posters as needed.
• Experience in documentation and client communication in a social services setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides language support services and interprets for clients with LEP.
• Assists with admission history, evaluations, scheduling, and enrollment processes.
• Translates printed materials and coordinates coverage with the agency's interpretation team.
• Greets visitors, answers calls, and supports front desk reception duties.
• Performs other assigned duties and participates in staff meetings to address access barriers.
