Job summary

The City Bar Justice Center is seeking a Project Coordinator (Bilingual) for the Immigrant Justice Project in New York, NY. This hybrid role reports to the Attorney Project Director and collaborates with volunteers and partner firms to advance access to justice.

Responsibilities include screening clients, managing case data, coordinating trainings and clinics, drafting initial papers under attorney supervision, and liaising with attorney volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or substantially equivalent work experience in a professional setting.
• Minimum 6 months of work experience (relevant internships acceptable).
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required—written and spoken (additional languages beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for immigrants seeking legal assistance, conducting eligibility screening and client interviews.
• Provide administrative support for IJP’s case management, maintain client and volunteer databases, track case statistics and assist with reporting.
• Provide client support and manage appointments, and use varied communication methods for sensitive follow-up.
• Coordinate trainings, clinics, and community outreach events; conduct legal research and draft initial papers under supervision.
• Liaise with attorney volunteers from large law firms and corporate legal departments.
