Job summary

South San Antonio Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Aide, Pre-k Bilingual to assist teachers in daily classroom activities and support bilingual instruction. You will work under the supervision of a certified teacher at Roy Benavidez Elementary School in San Antonio, TX.

The role requires Spanish-English bilingual communication, experience with children, and ability to manage materials and records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• High school diploma or GED required and TABE test.
• Eligible to obtain a paraprofessional certificate per State Board of Educator Certification.
• Fingerprinting background check required (approx. $50) paid by employee.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests and assignments.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom and assist with inventory and equipment upkeep.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during school day (lunch, bus, playground) and report needs to teacher.
