The position focuses on greeting patients, scheduling and registering visits, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and supporting front desk operations as part of the Care Team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• At least one year of clerical experience.
• Knowledge of data entry.
• Pleasant telephone manner and ability to work under pressure.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly upon entering the waiting area and respond to requests.
• Use phone etiquette and treat callers with courtesy and respect; monitor time on hold.
• Keep the waiting area clean and orderly.
• Notify supervisor of extended wait times when necessary.
• Schedule, change, and cancel appointments; verify scheduled visits.
• Assist with patient registration and verify information in the EMR system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and PCP; enter data into the EMR system.
• Collect copayments and visit payments at registration time.
• Refer patients to Billing for copayment issues and follow up as needed.
• Support Care Team and participate in quality improvement activities.
