Job summary

Bridges Homeward in the Greater Boston area seeks a Family Support Specialist to work 15-20 hours per week on a fee-for-service basis. You will collaborate with DCF and other providers to empower families, prevent out-of-home placement, and support reunification where possible.

The role includes in-home crisis response, mediation of family conflicts, and education to strengthen parenting capacity. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is required; a valid driver's license and insured vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education or a related field.
• Minimum of one year's experience providing case management and/or counseling services to children, adolescents and families; preference for those with pregnant/ parenting teens or young adults.
• Experience in child welfare services preferred.
• Bi-lingual required; English and Spanish are requested.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of interventions to empower families and support capacity to safely care for children.
• Provide in-home crisis response to stabilize the family.
• Mediate and support families in resolving conflicts.
• Support and educate parents to enhance their capacity to care for their children.
• Collaborate with DCF and other collaterals to strengthen support systems and referrals.
