About BioLife Plasma Services

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role:

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist should be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and supports environmental, health, and safety (EHS) at the center.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Determining donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical exams, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
  2. Evaluating donor reactions and managing medical emergencies following SOPs, including developing standing orders and arranging emergency transport.
  3. Referring complex cases to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
  4. Supporting vaccination programs for employees.
  5. Managing employee incidents and coordinating with occupational health or EHS as needed.
  6. Supporting pandemic response initiatives as authorized.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate nursing education.
  • Licensed or certified as an EMT-Paramedic in the state of responsibility.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • State requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Additional information:

Location: USA - MA - Medford

Hourly Wage Range: $26.68 - $36.69, based on experience and qualifications.
