Role Summary:

Outreach Specialists build relationships with health plan members and patients, providing information about our services, clarifying eligibility and application details, and referring patients to additional assistance agencies. Compassion and understanding are essential to deliver the highest level of customer service.

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6:30 pm CST

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Makes outbound and receives inbound calls regarding eligibility services and conducts screenings.
  2. Interviews patients/members via phone to gather personal and sensitive information for eligibility determination.
  3. Interprets and explains eligibility requirements and application details.
  4. Clarifies eligibility data with patients/members.
  5. Records and evaluates personal and financial data for completeness and accuracy.
  6. Uses computer systems to complete eligibility screenings and manage accounts.
  7. Refers patients/members to other agencies for assistance when appropriate.
  8. Monitors actions to ensure goals are met.
  9. Adheres to information security policies and completes annual security and compliance training.

Role Requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking) preferred.
  • At least 1 year in a call center environment, handling inbound and outbound calls.
  • Experience with call queues and customer service.
  • Empathy and a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently in a private and quiet environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Experience in healthcare or government benefits is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to track, monitor, and retrieve call information.
