The role supports the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before exams, in a fast-paced retail eye-care setting. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
• No optical experience required; training provided.
• Ability to explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Detail-oriented and well organized.
• Able to learn optical knowledge and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of the office and pretest room.
• Explain types of preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review patient information and consult with staff as needed.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
