Job summary

Davenport University is seeking a bilingual adjunct faculty member to teach Accounting online (Casa Latina) with dual-language instructional techniques. The role supports Spanish and English learners and offers flexible hours and online delivery.

Responsibilities include course design, delivery across online and off-campus sites, and maintaining academic records with a focus on cultural inclusivity. Master’s degree and bilingual proficiency are required, with experience in higher education

Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with ability to teach and communicate effectively in both languages.
• Proficient in dual-language instructional methodologies, supporting bilingual learners in Spanish and English.
• Master’s Degree (or equivalent credentials) in related field required.
• Ability to teach one to four hours per class session.
• Experience with online asynchronous/synchronous instruction and course design.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated knowledge in the assigned teaching discipline.
• Teaches courses as contracted each session and proactively prepares for scheduled courses.
• Apply dual-language instructional techniques in course design and delivery.
• Teach in online, in-seat, and off-campus sites, including dual/middle college.
• Provide instructional opportunities for the entire scheduled class time.
• Maintain course materials, syllabi, and instructional resources.
• Use learning management systems and digital resources to support learning.
• Guide students regarding program schedules and academic progress.
• Incorporate SIOP strategies to support language and content objectives.
• Promote inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
• Be accessible to assist students with questions and assignments per the syllabus.
• Stay informed on university communications and participate in college activities.
• Maintain records and demonstrate professional ethics.
