Job summary

Affordable Language Services in Cincinnati, Ohio, seeks a Nepali Interpreter to support onsite and remote interpreting engagements in Texas and beyond. The role requires fluency in English and Nepali and the ability to interpret in education, medical, social services, legal, and court settings.

You will work as an independent contractor, accepting assignments via the Scheduling system, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, and must have reliable transport and a quiet workspace for virtual appointments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and Nepali in written and spoken forms.
• Proficient computer skills including emails, scheduling system, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• Advanced interpretation skills and communication skills.
• Familiar with interpreting modes - Simultaneous or Consecutive, VRI, OPI, OSI.
• Bachelor's degree in interpretation or translation or related field; certified in interpreting or related field.
• At least 1-2 years experience interpreting in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between English and Nepali language.
• Maintain professionalism through attitude and interpreting services.
• Onsite, Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and Over the Phone Interpreting (OPI) engagements.
• Be familiar with interpreting modes and adapt to different settings.
