Medical Office Receptionist Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
  2. Experience with insurance verification, scheduling patients, and handling multiple line phones.
  3. Ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Culturally sensitive and able to work with diverse groups.
  5. Intermediate to advanced phone skills; able to effectively relate via telephone and in person.
  6. Must be flexible and accommodate the changing needs of the department.
  7. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language abilities are a plus.
  8. Knowledge of basic math and modern office procedures.
  9. Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
  10. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends.
  11. Basic to intermediate computer knowledge and skills.
  12. Basic medical billing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent plus two years of medical receptionist/front desk experience in a comparable health care setting, Pediatrics preferred.

Job Type: Full-time and Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Healthcare setting: Private practice

Shift availability: Must be available to work between the times of 7:30 am - 8:00 pm
